RHS Chelsea Florist of the Year 2012

Finals of Chelsea next week. This year I've got to create a chandelier for the "Queen's Diamond Jubilee Dinner". But it's huge - has to be just under 2 metres high by 1 metre wide.
None of the techniques I've been trying are working and I'm running out of time. Lots more early starts and late nights to follow...
Here's some pictures of my Hindu wedding. It all went brilliantly and I had some amazing comments from the family and the guests. Lots more pictures on my facebook page:

Trials and tribulations of a florist

Oh my days! Worked an 18 hour day yesterday. Got to bed at 2am and up 3 hours later. Have to be at the Shree Lakshmi temple in Bradford by 6.30 am to cover a golden mandap in flowers. I love my work but I'm exhausted already! Then I have to go to a big hotel in Harrogate and cover that with flowers too. At 5 pm we've been invited to the evening reception which is an honour but I think I'll be asleep under the table !!

I'm on the lunchtime panel tomorrow - Wednesday 2nd May - tune in to BBC Radio Lancashire from 11am - 1pm.

Dress of many flowers

And now my dress of many flowers - as one newspaper called it - has reached it's final resting place!! Carole and Sandra Hart from Especially for You bridal shop in Longridge have very kindly put it in their shop window. Why not have a look before it get relegated to the compost bin!!

May 1st

May 1st already?! Where's the last few weeks gone. I've been busy busy busy. Running a friends shop for nearly three weeks as well as doing my own weddings and orders. Plus the BIG news to hit the headlines was my commission by Harrogate Flower Show to create a floral gown with a Queen's Diamond Jubilee theme. You may have seen it on the internet or in the local papers. If not here's a picture of my beautiful daughter modelling it. The oh so talented Lesley Perrin from Wow! Photographic in Darwen captured this stunning shot.
