Harrogate flower show

Phew. Just spent four hours setting up two competitions at Harrogate flower show. I've entered "Tea For Two" and a brides bouquet for a chef - to include 2 items a chef might use. It's been great fun creating this out of chefs trousers, 2 mixing bowls, red kidney beans and cloves sprayed black. And tin foil hearts!! 38 other bouquets in this competition - all fabulous. Pics will be on facebook soon x

Wedding Fair

Wedding fair tonight at Haighton Manor, near Preston. About to start creating some fab weddings designs to take with me. Can't wait. A whole day of flowers in my little studio, looking out at my gorgeous garden. Bliss! Just hope the phone can stay quiet for a change and the puppy doesn't destroy everything I make or waltz off with the best flowers!!!

DIY disaster 2

As if that wasn't enough I hoovered over the flex of my new electric screwdriver and snapped it off the plug. Shredded wire!! Eek!! Not going to give in though. I WILL conquer DIY!!

Was soooo proud of myself yesterday - never done any DIY but managed to put up three blinds and a curtain pole. First time I'd used a drill !!! Just one bracket was left to do then disaster struck!! Drill and screws wouldn't go through my thick stone wall got the blind up but with the first pull of the cord the whole lot fell down. Aaarrrggg. Now left with a gaping hole in my wall and no blind. Will have to call in a man who can after all. Gutted!!

Just spent most of the day at the beautiful St George's Hall, Liverpool helping with North of Preston's exhibit at Pedamania. If you love flowers go and visit from tomorrow until Sunday - around 150 amazing pedestal arrangements and displays to see in an incredible building.
Here are some pics of our display. We were asked to depict the silver jubilee of  the North West Area of NAFAS in 1986. So we decided on a colour scheme of blue and silver (the colour of the stewards badges in 1986) and a mix of traditional and contemporary. Our main pedestal, created by Lyn Constable, was a beautiful traditional arrangement and our corner arrangements were short modern pedestals using the latest accessories - blue hex net, midelino sticks, aluminium wire, and massed contemporary flowers.
Hope you like the pics. More on my facebook page.
